Schuylkill Trail

September 26, 2026 · Philadelphia, PA

A rolling, forest-driven grind through the Schuylkill Center, one of Philadelphia’s most expansive natural preserves, where winding singletrack, steady climbs, and technical rocky sections keeps your legs honest from start to finish. Founded in 1965, the Schuylkill Center is one of the first urban environmental education centers in the country, with 365 acres of fields, forests, and streams in northwest Philadelphia. Push your pace. Carry your weight. Move with the pack.

The route weaves through dense hardwood forest, open meadows, and scenic trails, offering steady elevation gain and terrain that builds with every loop. Just minutes from the city, it feels a world away- quiet, immersive, and relentlessly engaging.

Trail Details

You’ll begin at the Schuylkill Center, stepping onto quiet wooded trails that immediately pull you into dense hardwood forest.

You’ll move through a mix of shaded singletrack, rolling hills, and varied terrain. You'll pass multiple ponds tucked into the forest, open meadows, and natural clearings.

Each loop brings you back toward the main hub, where the forest opens and the energy builds. You’ll step out of the trees, reset, and head back in, stronger, steadier, and ready for whatever distance you came to take on.

Yes. All distances must be completed within 10 hours to officially finish the challenge and earn your UltraTrax patch and medal (Level 3 and 4 only). This window is designed to push you, but still give walkers of all abilities enough time to complete the course safely.

Not at all. UltraTrax is built for all levels of athletic ability. You choose your distance and whether to level up with a weighted vest or ruck.

Yes- check our custom training plans HERE.

Wear clothing you’re comfortable sweating in. Light, breathable layers, moisture-wicking socks, and a hat or sun protection. Choose trail shoes or road shoes you’ve already tested on longer walks. If conditions are wet or muddy, trail shoes with grip are ideal.

UltraTrax is designed as a walking event, but you won’t be disqualified for running! We just ask that you follow approporatie trail etiquette and only pass when it’s safe and there’s plenty of room. If the trail narrows to single-track or feels crowded, we ask that you slow to a walk and stay in line until it opens up again.

Your safety comes first. If you need to stop, UltraTrax volunteers and staff will help guide you back to the base area or to the nearest aid station.

The route will be clearly marked with signage, arrows, bright tape, and volunteers will be stationed at key intersections and aid points.

Because UltraTrax requires significant planning, staffing, and coordination with our resort / course partners, registrations are non-refundable. If you can no longer attend, you may transfer your registration to a future event date for a small fee.

There is limited VIP parking on-site. All participants are welcome to park at the open lot located at 161 Washington Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from the start line, and we will have complimentary shuttles running to/from the event from 6am to 6pm.

We love dogs, but unfortunately they are not allowed on the course.

Yes! If you are leveling up the challenge by adding weight, you will need to bring your own vest or weighted pack.  We weigh the vest/packs the morning of the event. Everything counts toward the total except perishable items.

We’re here to help. Email us anytime at info@ultratraxgo.com and our team will get back to you quickly.
