You have 10 hours. How far can you go? UltraTrax is a single-day endurance walking challenge where you choose your distance: 7, 14, 21, or 28 miles. Complete it unweighted or take it up a level with a 10, 20, or 35 lb ruck and earn bonus swag along the way. Built for all experience levels, UltraTrax brings together anyone ready to see what they’re capable of.
A mountain-crafted trek through Alpine Valley’s wooded slopes, winding trails, and challenging climbs. Push your pace. Carry your weight. Move with the pack.
The course traverses forested hillsides, twisting single-track, and steady ascents that showcase the natural beauty of Wisconsin’s Kettle Moraine region. Along the way, you’ll encounter quiet woodlands, open ski runs, and sweeping views that make every hard-earned mile worth the effort.

Yes. All distances must be completed within 10 hours to officially finish the challenge and earn your UltraTrax patch and medal (Level 3 and 4 only). Yes. You will need to bring your own vest/ backpack. We will weigh it the morning of the event before you head out on the course. Everything counts toward the total EXCEPT perishable items. We ask that you remove them from your pack prior to weighing in.

Wear clothing you’re comfortable sweating in. Light, breathable layers, moisture-wicking socks, and a hat or sun protection. Choose trail shoes or road shoes you’ve already tested on longer walks. If conditions are wet or muddy, trail shoes with grip are ideal.
UltraTrax is designed as a walking event, but you won’t be disqualified for running! We just ask that you follow approporatie trail etiquette and only pass when it’s safe and there’s plenty of room. If the trail narrows to single-track or feels crowded, we ask that you slow to a walk and stay in line until it opens up again.
Your safety comes first. If you need to stop, UltraTrax volunteers and staff will help guide you back to the base area or to the nearest aid station.
The route will be clearly marked with signage, arrows, bright tape, and volunteers will be stationed at key intersections and aid points.
Because UltraTrax requires significant planning, staffing, and coordination with our resort / course partners, registrations are non-refundable. If you can no longer attend, you may transfer your registration to a future event date for a small fee.
